MinnMax’s Ben Hanson interviews Masato Kato about his game Another Eden. They also touch on his history with Square and his involvement with Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy 7, and Chrono Cross.
What do they talk about?
During this interview they discuss Kato’s latest game, Another Eden. They also touch on his history in the industry and some of the ideas, similarities, and characters that he brought to his games.
Kato has some really wonderful opinions on how humans connect with each other and their planet, and the way that he imparts that into his work through Chrono Trigger’s Lavos or Final Fantasy VII’s Lifestream.
Another Eden takes a deliberate departure from the focus around the characters’ relationship to the planet, but still touches on some of the things players have grown to love about his work, such as time travel.
